Winner of the ALCC 2005 Award of Excellence
This woodland transformation that included 2 uncultivated acres had some very specific qualifications. The clients were concerned that they maintain their privacy and that the landscaping create a feeling of intimacy. It was a project that needed to look as if it was well seasoned and the trees placed were on average 12 – 20 feet tall.
By the well planned placement of large Blue Spruce, a variety of Pines, and deciduous trees, this residential retreat remained true to its rural setting. Just outside the renovated kitchen, a vintage well became the owner’s herb garden. A grove of Crimson Cloud Hawthorns creates natural privacy screen from the new master bath. A mix of colorful perennials and shrubs complete the picture of this informal country setting.
